چکیده
In this paper, biodiesel was used as an alternative fuel to investigate the combustion and emission characteristics of a four-stroke diesel engine, in terms cylinder pressure, heat release rate, temperature, brake thermal efficiency, specific consumption, nitrogen oxide, soot, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon. Firstly, engine model developed by AVL-Fire software coupled with CHEMKIN code simulate injection kinetic mechanism 106 species 263 reactions. Then, simulation validated experimental results under 100% 50% load conditions process fueled pure diesel, biodiesel, biodiesel–diesel blends 10%, 20%, 30% volume, respectively. The showed that consumption increased increase mixed ratio. consumptions B10, B20 B30 1.1%, 2.3% 3.3%, respectively, compared D100. are improved. Therefore, can be for engine. diesel–biodiesel improve

Combustion Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Diesel Engine Using a Water-Emulsified Heavy Fuel Oil and Light Diesel Blend
Using low price heavy fuel oil (HFO) in high-speed diesel engines is a practical way to reduce running costs. However, most high-speed diesel engines’ fuel systems and combustion systems cannot adapt to HFO. This causes the problem of deterioration of combustion performance. In order to solve this problem, the authors have modified the fuel injection system and combustion system of a high-speed...
متن کاملEmission Performance of a Diesel Engine Running on Biodiesel Fuel at Different Compression Ratios
In the present study emission performance of a diesel engine (Lister Petter) was evaluated at different compression ratios and engine loads with soybean methyl ester and its 25%, 50%, 75% blends with diesel fuel at constant speed 1500 rpm. Exhaust emissions included CO, CO2, HC and NOx. The compression ratio and engine load varied from 14 to 20 with an interval 1 and 25 to...
متن کاملModeling the effects of biodiesel-diesel fuel blends on CO2 emission of a diesel engine by response surface methodology
Nowadays biodiesel is receiving more attention as a most important renewable energy for using in diesel engines. Inthis research, the application of Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was highlighted to investigate the effects of biodiesel-diesel blends (B0, B20, B50 and B100), engine operating parameters (engine load and speed) on CO2 emission of a diesel engine. The experiments were conducte...

متن کاملCharacteristics of carbonyl compounds emission from a diesel-engine using biodiesel–ethanol–diesel as fuel
Characteristics of carbonyl compounds (carbonyls) emissions from biodiesel–ethanol–diesel (BE–diesel) were investigated in a Commins-4B diesel engine and compared with those from fossil diesel. Acetaldehyde was the most abundant carbonyls in the exhaust, followed by formaldehyde, acetone, propionaldehyde and benzaldehyde. Apliphatic carbonyls emitted from BE–diesel were higher than those from d...
